On Friday she was driving to work, no different than any other day, when she went into a seizure. Somehow she managed to hit nothing but the barrier on the side of the expressway and by that time it was estimated she was only going around 30 miles per hour. Though her car had a few scratches, Jess had not a one.

After the car was towed Jess's mom went to get her and take her home. But she didn't feel quite right so they took her to the ER instead. A CT scan revealed a mass on her brain.
Then it wasn't a mass. Maybe it was just swelling and/or bleeding. Then it was a mass. She spent the whole weekend in testing trying to get answers, looking all together perfectly healthy, except whatever was hidden in her brain.

So there's a crap load more tests being done today and her surgery is scheduled for Thursday, though what that entails is still undetermined.
But Jess is optimistic, as are we all. She is an altogether healthy, beautiful, wonderful person who deserves to kick this thing in the ass.
| Less than a week before the accident. We helped to rake elderly people's yards. That's Jess talking to the owner. |
So I just ask that you send her wishes, prayers, thoughts, whatever it is you do for someone who needs that little extra help.
I'll let you know how her recovery is going after the operation on Thursday. Till then I might not be around much.
There's a wonderful, important person that needs my attention.

Sending them your way!

ReplyDeleteSending positive thoughts your way. She'll be fine especially because she has a great support system.
ReplyDeleteMy dad had a brain tumor five years ago. It was the scariest moment of my life, but five years later he is happy and healthy and loves to tell people that part of his head is titanium. Right now it seems terrifying but medicine and technology today are amazing.
If you want to talk to someone who has been through this you have my email :)
My gut feeling says that she is going to pull out of it :-)
ReplyDeleteSo keep smiling and be with her.
