The day is here!

ROAD TO SOMEWHERE is available to the masses!

This day seriously came up so fast. As I type this the night before, and I think about the journey this little books has taken, it shouldn't seem like a blur.

But it does.

Jen and I wrote ROAD TO SOMEWHERE in April through June of 2012. I remember scurrying to get edits done before I went on vacation in early July. We went on submission to find an agent and miraculously the first full request we received ended up turning into an offer for representation.

I had queried four books prior to this one. I'd lost count as to how many rejections I'd received.

So this book was pretty darn special.

But after one gets an agent, the road does not necessarily get easier. Though you do have someone else to travel it with, so that helps.

ROAD TO SOMEWHERE went on submission. It got lots of full requests but there was always something that didn't click with the editor. Then our agent left her agency and we decided to stay with the agency. Through this process ROAD TO SOMEWHERE found a home with Jamie Bodnar Drowley. Even though Jamie also left to start her own agency, we moved ROAD TO SOMEWHERE with her. She believed in the story so fully, we knew we couldn't find a better advocate for our work, or for our careers as authors.

Almost a year after ROAD TO SOMEWHERE found us our agent (the first one) we found it a PERFECT home with Bloomsbury Spark, under the amazing guidance of Meredith Rich and her team. I seriously couldn't be more proud of what this story has become and I know it wouldn't be possible without so many people's help.

A funny and cool side story about this book. Jen and I wrote it as a way for us to expand our writing, and to grow as authors. I think we'd both admit that we didn't really know if it would go anywhere. At the time we wrote it, we borrowed our current critique partners' names for Charlie's three best friends. While our writing circle and critique group has grown immensely over that time, the symbolism remains the same.

Our work wouldn't exist without this fantastic writing and reading community.

I sincerely hope you enjoy and connect to Charlie and Lucy's journeys. I truly can't wait to hear what you think. You can find it here!

New! From Bloomsbury Spark, a sunny story of discovery and sisterhood.

A road trip. A singing competition. And super-hot cowboys.

What could be better?

For Charlie, a post-high school road trip isn't just a vacation, it's life changing. While her parents think she's helping a friend move, a chance at fame is the real reason to grab her best friends and drive to L.A. But when her super annoying, uber-responsible, younger sister, Lucy, has to tag along, it isn't quite the summer of fun she imagined.

Add in a detour to her grandparents' ranch in Texas, and between mucking the stalls, down-home cookin', and drool-worthy ranch hands, this could just turn into the best, and most complicated, summer of their lives.
